Organizing from the Inside Out

Organizing from the Inside OutHaving just finished Son of a Witch, I must say I’m quite disappointed. I waded through the unwieldy prose to an ending that seems, to my mind, a bit of a let down. Just slam you into the wall and there it is sort of ending.

So the newest book in my bag, by Julie Morgenstern, is a non-fiction bit that will be engaging for the mind, but not so much the emotions. A good 80% of the books on the stack are non-fiction, so it’s not at all surprising. I definitely need some assistance in the organization department, and there are rave reviews of the book on both front and back covers.

I, of course, exude skepticism all the while willing to be a devotee of The Organized Life. Part of the problem, I’ve come to suspect, is that my house is just too big. Vast oceans disorganization leave me with nowhere to get a toe-hold and a serious case of procrastination. I can manage to keep my (approximately) 100 sf office (at the J.O.B.) relatively organized… but not a 3000+ sf house. Gah! Who needs this much space, anyway? And why do I have all this stuff? (And where the hell did it all come from??)

Perhaps these, and other questions, will be answered while reading Ms. Morgenstern’s book.
