As far as the "crime" part of the novels go, yes... justice is important. But I'm also looking at the personal lives of the characters. Do things work out well? Is everything status quo? Or has everything gone to hell in a hand basket? Obviously, I want things to work out well for the good guys, and the bad guys should all have miserable lives. I'm kind of vindictive like that. LOL

But Slaughter did a bad thing to a good character. I find myself becoming displeased when that happens.

I love happy endings (hence the fixation with romance novels), yet I have to call you out on this one. You're insisting that your *crime* novels have happy endings? :)

Or are you just insisting that there be some sort of justice at the end, and you were deprived of justice here?

haleyhughes's last blog post: <a href="http://haleyhughes.blogspot.com/2008/08/doodle-water.html" rel="nofollow">Doodle Water</a>
