Innocent in Death

Innocent in DeathOh, this is a good one!  It took a little longer than usual to figure the murderer… ah, but once you do!  Completely creepy!

And there’s a bit of marital drama for Eve and Roarke.  Yeah, ok, whatever.  I do like that Eve and Summerset actually have a conversation, rather than the usual insults traded.  I get that it’s just the game they play… and sometimes the game is fun… but it’s starting to get a little boring.  For me.  Obviously not for Robb, Eve or Summerset.

If you’ve read even one of these, you’ll know Eve doesn’t really understand all that “girly” stuff.  Weirds her right out, in fact.  And that’s gotta be one of the things I just love most about her… because I don’t get it either.  LOL

Divided in Death

Divided in DeathAnd we’re skipping backwards in time again.  While I dearly love Booksfree, they don’t always send me the books in the order I have them in my book list. This annoys me just a little.

Most of the Eve Dallas books get me to tear up just a teensy bit, but this one had me actually grabbing for the tissues more than once.  I’m not sure if that’s a sign that this book is more of a tear-jerker than others… or if I’m just getting way too involved with these characters. In either case… once again, an excellent read!

J. D. Robb In Death

Reunion in DeathPurity in DeathI’ve probably said this before, and I’ll probably say it again… I really like Robb’s character of Eve Dallas. She’s a tough, gutsy, smart New York City cop. The best part about this series is that it combines my two favorite genre… science fiction and mystery. Didn’t I mention before that these stories are set about 50 years from now? Hmmm.

Now, since Robb is actually Nora Roberts, there has to be a bit of romance, and that’s fine. It doesn’t take away from the story, and it isn’t too distracting. I’ve got each and every one of these books on my Booksfree list, and eagerly await the next books. The biggest problem is setting them aside when I should be reading for class. If you like mysteries… start reading these already!

Immortal in Death

Immortal in DeathNormally, I really dislike reading books out of sequence. But I guess since it’s been a couple of months since I read the last Eve Dallas story, backtracking to her wedding wasn’t as annoying as it usually would be.

While I like these stories, they all do seem to be an awful lot alike. Formulaic, even. Still, Robb’s writing is good enough that I can forgive her for that. (We all know J.D. Robb is really Nora Roberts, right?) Two more of her books will be on their way once I return these to Booksfree.
